That is at the upper end. But if it has low miles too, if you want it, get it. I paid $10,000 for my CD seven years ago, no complaints.
Okay, yeah, low miles, mine had 83k.

I paid $9500 for my '82 300D with 43k miles. 18 years ago.

It's still a 25 year old car with little/no rust protection, 25 year paint and many older parts. Remember that too

Without seeing it or knowing anything about it, I'd say its too much. I'd put it around 6-7k

Looks to be in pretty good shape. Yet it's a sedan, not a coupe or wagon.

It does look pretty nice. What kind of service records does it have? Is it from the south originally?

It might be worth a ton of money, or a pittance. Visit with the owner, take notes on whatever he tells you about the car, then compare them for validation - if possible. The pictures tell relatively nothing about the rest of the car - the exterior pictures especially. No dash, glass, engine compartment, trunk pictures, etc. Last edited by Skid Row Joe; 02-27-2010 at 04:30 PM. |

The armrest surface is showing erosion back to tan-leather color from the blue - my '83 300SD with the identical color blue interior did exactly that after 250K miles, and 13 yrs. The right driver's seat-bolster is showing the same wear too.
It is also possible that exposed surfaces have been affected by sea-salt air in Pensacola. Not necessarily likely - but possible nonetheless. |

It'd have to be mint condition with FSH for that kind of money IMO. Looks like it could be...but I would expect perfection, including attached glovebox wood trim at the very least. Probably more like a $5-$7K car.
Also realize that if you plan on using it as a daily driver that there is still depreciation to consider.

That price might be okay for a CD, but not a sedan. Also, the miles sound way too low, you'll want to see records all the way back to track the mileage. Usually cars that old, with mileage that low haven't been driven enough to keep a diesel happy.
