Alternator belt 10x1035 or 10x1037 or something else?

1985 300D Turbo

Fastlane shows 10x1037 for the alternator belt.

AllParts Express shows 10x1035 for the alternator belt.

A review of the various threads on replacing this belt seems to indicate that various sizes have been called out but no clear consensus as to the correct one.

I'll muddy the waters a bit. My '81 takes an 1100mm alt belt.
Tightened it today as a matter of fact. Tired of it squealing randomly!

I don't think it matters, 2mm longer or shorter makes zero difference since the adjustment nut can move several cm...

85 uses shorter belts than 82-84, and the nonturbos (81 & before) use one fatter belt instead of two.

The number 1000 is sticking in my head for 85, with 1035 being for 82-84.

Edit: nevermind, it's only the 85 300SD for the shorter belt.

I think you're right. It's the "something else" that got me spooked. Some couldn't get the "correct" alternator belt on without removing the pulley or replacing with a longer "wrong" belt. But I think they were 300SDL's or 300TDT's. I just wanted to add 2 belts to a small order to make shipping a smaller dollar percentage cost and keep as spares until spring.
