Is your timing chain "labeled"?

I think the chain in my 617 is labeled "Iwis" on each link, but I see that the 240D I am working on has no label. Do you think I should replace it?

Why would you assume that because it doesn't have this IWIS stamp that you should replace it?

Because of what I know

I know there are some junk chains on the market for about half the price of the Iwis. You only loose a chain on these engines once because when the chain goes it "almost" always will take out the engine with it.

IMO, if you have any concern about the timing chain = replace it.

It is not worth the stress/doubt eating at you...

Have a great day.
