I couldn't find my axles for my 87 300SDL anywhere but the stealership, And they only wanted $600 each.

Do to the fact that my boots didn't open up on me, or they weren't making any noises I choose to reboot them. So far they are working great.

What a nightmare that job was, I got the wrong axles, then had to wait on the guy to reboot the old once. Enterprise rental car loved me when it was all over.

i've heard both good and bad on these FEQ. bad, lasted a year and a half. good, over 40k miles in 2 years and everything is good. the nice thing about these axles is they can be worked on/replaced much easier because they can be separated at the differential end by removing alan bolts. that would cut repair time in half if one ever went bad.
If someone buys the Imported Annular Axles (the ones with swversl Allen Bolts through the Differential end) it might be a good idea to remove 1 bolt and a time and re-install with locktite; as, some of our members who have bought them have had those bolts come loose and the Axle fail.
