While we're on the subject of hatch doors, where is the actuating switch for the rear light? I can't seem to find it.

*edit* I re-read your post...There is a switch incorporated into the latch mechanism. It's a PITA to get at for sure.

Upper left dash switch i believe. But, it depends on the position of the switch in the rear too. It should come on when you open the hatch or one of the rear doors if the switch is one way or another. Sorry, not a lot of definitive help.

Thanks a lot. I am planing on applying some "straight line blue chalk" on the seal then use the above procedure and make sure that the seal touches the entire perimeter of the hatch.

Quick update:

I adjusted the bottom hatch plate (as suggested above), move them about 2mm towards the front. Tight fit but not to the point I have to slam the hatch shot.

Test drove and NO MORE FUMES.....
