Multi purpose Signal Light Switch

I have a 1984 300SD, the signal/wiper switch has a glitch. If I turn the wiper switch to intermittant it will work as if it were in the low speed mode. If I rotate the switch, while in the intermittant mode, towards the off position just slightly then it will work intermittantly until I hit a bump then it goes back to the low speed mode even thou it is in the intermittant position. I read the Diesel Giants instructions for removing the whole switch out of a W123 but they are different on a W126. Does anyone have instructions for removing the whole thing from a W126 or any suggestions on how to correct this problem?

are you sure it is the switch on the stalk? does tapping it or jiggling the knob fix it.

i had that problem once and it turned out to the multipurpose relay in the fuse box.

pm me if you need the relay, i have a spare.

You'll need to remove the steering wheel on a 126. Obvious from there.

Thank you for the offer Ben but I have a parts car and I also bought a relay that did not help the problem. I do believe that it is the multi-purpose switch because if I rotate it towards the off position just a little bit it will work intermittantly but as soon as I hit a bump it goes back to low speed and not intermittant even though I have the switch in the intermittant position. Thank you for the information on the R&R section.
