my dad tried teaching me morse code. never got the bug. stayed in electronics, though. did a stretch in the navy, got out and BS'd in electrical engineering. Now I work for the Navy on Aegis missile ships as an engineer in computer and display systems.

Navy and electronics, I'm impressed. The things that we consider simple on land, without all of the noise and corrosion from dissimilar metals in salt-air, ... a considerable education over a normal EE.
