yeah, it looks nice on that meticulously maintained sedan, but after a few years of use, it looks like horse **** in the sun with flecks of hay.

IMO all the 80's mercedes "toilet bowl" colors don't do the cars justice. I like the bright exciting colors, these are nice looking cars with good body lines, no need to cover that up with a dingy color. Just like now, why is there a market for three shades of sliver and black and white?

Thats just soooo boring, yet they keep getting bought. Take me back to the bright vibrant auto colors of the 50s

I do like the MB dark orange, greens, and bright blues of the 80s.

I love brown and beige cars. I want a W116 in Walnut Brown and Colorado Beige two tone. I am possibly buying another 300SD in Milan Brown (had one), which I think is slightly lighter than Manganese Brown.

If any of you are looking for a Manganese Brown car, here is a W116 300SD that was originally Manganese Brown (repainted white, but look at door jambs, and the VIN# says it is DB480 Manganese): http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/1628871589.html . You would have to repaint the car, but at least the door jambs and nooks and crannies would be the same color.

Count me in as a fan of Manganese Brown. Won't show pictures of my SD until it gets repainted, but I'm definitely keeping the same color. It seems more like a 70's color to me. I can picture my W126 in an episode of the streets of San Francisco or a Dirty Harry movie.

I really have grown to like that color!
That example is certainly priced too high for most of us though. That is nicer wagon territory. {one T only please....}

I bought one that color with a parchment interior about 1990 or so. I thought the brown was very hot back then. One day I came out and found this little $hit kid scraping at the trunk tristar with a screwdriver. I was tempted to really hurt him.

Now I would avoid that color because the metallics age so poorly compared to a nice ivory, white or maple yellow!

It had a problem with the tranny shifting erratically that caused me to trade it for an ivory td. The td was probably a used and abused one and cost me a lot of money putting right. By the time I got everything fixed I was tired of it and sold it along.

I really LOVE that color. Almost UPS brown - just with a little mettalic added. A Henna interior in one would look sweet....

Had a 126 that color, and it looked like crap. Well, the original paint did. The door and fender I painted looked very nice. I like the color, even if it is a pita to paint.

I like the brown a lot! I looked at one up in Daytona before I bought the one I have now. It was a little too rough and ran like crap though. So, I passed.
