W123 driveshaft
Hi, my friend had her 85 300D to Mercedes for a look over and they said she had a rear wheel bearing gone and a "drive shaft bearing" Since I don't have the car to look at I am not 100% sure what they meant on the drive shaft part. They quoted her $42.00 for the bearing and $96.00 for the boot. Anyone have any idea what they may be referring to? Would they mean the support bearing? Is there a boot there? If anyone has a drawing that would be very helpful. 85 W123

One of my cars had a center drive shaft bearing with a boot.
But I doubt that the boot for the drive shaft is $96. That sounds like an axle boot price. The $42 drive shaft bearing sounds okay.

Ya that's throwing me too. I am not sure where that price came from but I went for a small bolt to hold the pan on the bottom of my 124 and they (MB) wanted $7 for the bolt so nothing surprises me anymore
