I noticed the leather also, EXTREMELY rare in the '87 300TD. No bun-warmers or orthopedic seats, ... that would have been rediculously rare, so I'm only a little jealous.

Nice find.

So, the bazillion dollar question...is the Mercedes Leather product the one to use or is there something else/better? The dealer gave the leather a treatment as part of the detailing prior to sale.

No heated seats...and did you mean that I should use seat covers?

Thanks! I can't believe I was able to find this car here in CA....so close and from a dealer no less....that hadn't been RUINED by Lovecraft or some other flaming buttheads.

Another bonus is that since I purchased from an authorized dealer I will enjoy (according to the new terms) the free roadside assistance for as long as I own her; and I'll be buried in her.

I'm using Leatherique. Great product as far as the conditioner and cleaner go. I have yet to test dyeing a piece yet.

Really? That one's rare?
I used to buy them all the time in Germany at the junkyards, how much would they go for, I must have several all over the place.

Move the passenger seat as far forward as possible. Remove the headrest and then recline the backrest all the way. See 1:12-1:17 of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7Mx5yQeeso
