Manifold to turbo leak

Has anyone seen a failure of the connector between the manifold and turbo, or is it usually just the seal ring? The manifold kit includes the seal, but I'm wondering if I might need the connector too. Don't want to tear it apart just to find out.

I assume you mean between the turbo and intake manifold. The rubber o rings often go bad, but I have never heard of the aluminum connector going bad, and don't see how it could unless it was installed incorrectly.

You can here the turbo whistle on my car. It's been like that since I have owned it...almost 4 years now. I wounder if the rubber rings that seal the turbo and intake are to blame...

Thanks guys! Yeah, I guess it should have been turbo to manifold! Between that leak and oil seepage from the main manifold gasket, it's time to get into it. And the turbo has whistled since I got it too. Will let you know if installing the kit resolves it.

When it is running and making the noise you might squirt a little oil on it... starting on one side and systematically going over it... that is the way manifold whistles were found at one time on gas engines...

The whistle only happens in my car under acceleration. Very light to none at 70 mph, but if I accelerate, it gets louder, the eases off as I ease of the pedal, to cruising speed.
