Ronal R9's on my SD

Finally got around to refinishing these wheels and had them balanced the other day. I painted them with by wet sanding the original paint, priming, spraying 5 coats of gloss black, and 4 coats of clear. I let them dry for a month and they turned out pretty damn good for a spray can. Eventually when this paint starts looking terrible Ill have them powder coated (maybe they can powder coat clear over the outer rim?) but that should be a few years down the line. They are staggered (deeper lip on rear and different offset) and fit the 126's terrible offset requirements perfectly.

Nice job on the wheels. I like the total packaged. The staggered set, the black color and the lowered stance. Will have to copy that look.

Thanks DV. Btw, this is that SD you were trying to buy off SirNik for $150 about two years ago. The car itself has come a long way since then and has seen about 50k of roads in the time Ive owned it.

Im not sure how much this affects the look but Ive been told the SEC bumper hangs down lower although Ive never compared. I scrape the hell out of the thing but it has a lot of give.

If anyone has a SEC tow hook cover Id love to buy it.

VERY NICE!
Those wheels totally update the car!

Now to find a set for the SDL and use the originals for the snows...

Looks good. Let us know if/when the paint starts flaking. The set I had refinished looked great but the paint began failing and flaking off within two months. I'll probably repaint them this summer when I have more time, and money to put good rubber on the bundts, etc.

That car has come a long way since the last time I saw it...

I have another set of AMG pentas on the way, and will likely swap them out and go period correct on the SL.

What size are they? I have some Pentas that I want to put on Norm, and I like the size you have on there.

Car looks great, I miss putting around Valencia in it!
