1987 190D 2.5 TURBO
There is a 1987 190D 2.5 TURBO near me for sale. Haven't looked at it yet, but it has 130K on it. No radio and the clear coat is shot but no rust. Says he has alot of service history. Alot is not complete though. color is like a charcol with parchment. New Michelin tires. He wants $2500 for it. Mechanically, what should I be concerned with on this model? I know this was the only year they offered the turbo on this model. That is probably good and bad both. Any input would be appreciated.

Other than usual rubber/cv/suspension parts on a 25 year old car, from what I know that is a solid engine and a fast car, and not just for a diesel either. If mileage is accurate and service is pretty good, should have the solid 4 speed auto tranny (unless you're really lucky and it has a stick), price sounds damn good. These cars are hard to find, the 2.5 turbos anyway and I would jump on it if it looks good. After your 240's you'll be in for a big surprise. |
