OVP Relay Location on a 1984 300TD w123?

I'm trying to find my OVP relay. I took out the glovebox and passenger kick panel but didn't see anything like it. Do I need to take out the battery and look from that direction?

I do believe the OVP relay is only in the '85 model W123. (and possibly the Cali version of the '84 but I won't swear to that one.)

I did search the archives quite thoroughly leathermang. I read that thread you linked to but did not see anything referring specifically relating to my problem.

The reason I am looking for an OVP relay is that my car does not have a tach amp. I was instructed to take a look at the OVP relay but I cannot locate it. Is it possible to not have a tach amp and OVP relay on a w123 1984 300TD?

Thanks.

I not only don't have a tach amp... I have no tach... I do not know what it looks like... or where it is located... but if we keep this thread near the top of the page someone with actual facts is sure to show up sooner or later...

Ok,,,
All turbos from 85, Federal
All turbos from 84, California..

Looks to be located on the inner firewall between the climate control amplifier and the multi use relay (behind the glove compartment area generally,) 5 spade connectors..
Good luck on what they look like... that is my best shot..

It above the underdash panel on the passenger side on the right kickpanel in between the firewall and the door. Its just to the right of your EGR computer mounted on a metal bracket. There will be a 10amp fuse plugged into the top of the OVP relay. Hope that helps.

You'll see the relay towards the base of the A pillar

Thanks joshuajeeper, that's the kind of info I was looking for. Now if it will stop raining, I can go out there and look for it again.
