99 E300TD A/C Problem

A/C blows cold air for a little while then begins to blow warm air.

Shut off engine, wait a minute, restart engine, A/C blows cold for a little while then blows warm air.

Happens everytime.

Compressor is engaged when blowing cold, not engaged when blowing warm.

Speed sensor problem?

could possibly be low on refrigerant. I know with my car, when it needed a recharge, I started losing cold air from the left dash vent first, but was still getting cool air from the center and passenger side vent. It would also make a hissing sound from the center vent when it was in operation. Recharged the system, and it has been good for over 2 years now. Good luck

I did some research and found out how to read climate control sensors and errors.

I think I have a faulty evaporator temp sensor. It is reading 143 deg F with ambient at 64 deg F. Seems too high.

Has anyone changed this?

It's an easy job. You have to remove the bottom cover on the driver's side (LHD).

Replaced evaporator temp sensor...problem solved

Excellent! It's a good feeling.
