Is this normal

I just replaced the valve stem seals on my 115 and adjusted the valves. But when I started her up, she really belched some smoke. I haven't run it more than five minutes since completing the job. Did I mess up?

Too soon to tell...
you probably got some oil into the place that would cause that when changing them...
So start it up a few times... five minutes or so at high idle....and let cool down...
Are you sure you got them down the right amount..
and did you use the plastic protection devices to install ?

Thanks. I did use the plastic sleeves. I was concerned about the seating. I used that tool from mercedes source and push very, very hard. But I never felt any click as the instructions mentioned.

Use ONLY Valve Stem Seals from Mercedes

all else is of questionable QC
and will fail.
