Sticking accelerator pedal

Hi all

Just as of this morning, while driving, when I let up on the throttle, the accelerator pedal sticks for a few seconds upon my release. This ceases immediately upon me braking. Any ideas? I'm currently in New York City, a GREAT place to have your car misbehaving in this way! ;)

Thanks!

Remove the floor mat put car in neutral...............Oh wait wrong forum!!

Couldn't resist!!! :D

Check your linkage for binding lubricate the pivot points.

Only stops on braking ? Disconnect cruise control linkage sounds like it could be activating

I already removed my cruise control, well before this ever started happening.

is there any chance you have done a recent oil change or glow plug change?
the heater hose that wraps around the oil filter, sometimes get moved, for better access to things, and can cause this.

Slap a toyota label on the trunk and forget about it.:D Actually a good lubrication and inspection for anything abnormal should take care of the issue.

could be a sticky cable. Lube everything.
