Nice ride.

But you're not wrong.

could be your clutch is slipping, or it could be that the little motor is straining to attain 75 with the rear gearing in that baby.

Yup, I try to keep mine closer to 65 for extended trips. They are geared pretty low.

Yeah you have a 3.69 to 1 in that 240D. Its gonna be spinning quite a bit at 75MPH, it will be fine though.

Did you lower it?

Dood - what happened to your springs? Or is that a low-rider/hydraulic-suspension 240D?

Dood - You may be starting a 240D Hip-Hop trend! I like it, Dood!

At 75 with the windows up the engine will sound scary with the windows down you won't notice it. If the injection pump is stock don't worry about it mine is and will do 80 + the governor will let you know when its through .

Note : not the same on hills you do the regulating especially on the down side!!

Like driving an old 2 stroke detroit only with class and style .

I drove a 74 240D every day for 20 years, lover the car.
X Canada twice and P Beach California probably 15 times all at a steady 70 MPH. Ran like a top.
Went through three vacuum pumps till I installed a piston type from a 300D

The only real solution to me is the really rare five speed overdrive transmission.

To help a little on could install the rear end out of a natural aspired 300d. I think their ratio is about 3.47. You have to take that cars speedometer along as well. Because of the limited power other rear ends available with lower ratios are not a good ideal. Although they might do better on the automatics.

I posted the same observation when I got my 220D. My muffler was bad.....and it was scary.

I still stay off the highway if I can avoid it.

Judging by your license plate your from Oregon so skip Vegas and go to this instead.

Edit: Is that Oregon or Colorado?
