How many W123 do you see while you're on the road, say a month?

Over the last 6 weeks or so, and 5 thousand miles driven I have seen exactly--

2, Two, TWO!

Only 2!

One was a Coupe and the other a Wagon....

Getting rare here.....:(

Getting scarce on the east coast of Canada now as well. At least people no longer drive them through the harsh winters anymore in general.

Not too many going to the salvage yards or laying around for spare parts around here. I wonder when they will make the quantum leap to antique status. It should not be too long.

I saw three today!

I live in Nashville, TN and I still se them on a pretty regular basic. Probably average one a day. I saw three today. All three were 300d's just like mine. One was black on tan, the other two were silver and tan, but I didnt catch the interior since I saw them on the road and not in a parking lot like the black one. I hope I never stop seeing them, but I'm sure the day is coming where I see them next to never! One of the greatest body styles of all time in my personal opinion.

I think they have achieved that status here, recently there have been articles in three classic-car type mags on W123's....

I see atleast two every day, the one in the garage and the one in the driveway:P. But really I see one just about everyday. Since the biodiesel crazy hit a few years ago there are diesel MB's and VW's all over the place here. But all be damned if I can find very man in the local junkyards.

Yes I was under the general impression almost everyone had one model or the other out there.:D The high prices for scrap metal awhile ago got a lot of parts cars crushed all over the country unfortunatly. We probably will be reduced to a few people specialising in the parts for the 123s etc before long as about the only sources for used parts.

Wow. You must be out a lot or something because I've only seen maybe 5 or 6 in the last month, if that! I actually saw one yesterday on my way to work in Brentwood. It was beautiful Burgundy 300D with a female driver! I see another one parked at a house atop a hill every time too so that doesn't really count. Thank god I get to see my brother's coupe every day or I'd go crazy:D It's kind of funny though, I was just telling him the other day how we don't see them too often (as opposed to when we used to live in Florida) and how it'd be nice be able to find a different model to drive and put the coupe up for a "weekend driver." It needs a paint job anyway so if that ever gets done we're definitely going to use it as a weekend car.

Other than some mint euro-spec wagons with elderly drivers and some rusted 240d's, my coupe is the only coupe here, and one of the few w123's left

Rust never sleeps!

vstech 03-28-2010 06:55 PM

dozens a month. they're plentiful here.

ashedd 03-28-2010 07:05 PM

Maybe 3. I see the guy down the street quite often and some other random guy in the area every few days. So that leave about 1 random 300d sighting a month. I also had a TD twin in town but I think he sold his wagon since I saw one just like it at a car lot a couple months ago.

I see plenty of newer MB's in the neighborhood but they are mostly driven by house wives who cannot stop at four way stops. I swear I am the only person around here that actually stops. I see a lot of ugly SL's and several 126's.

offalot 03-28-2010 07:09 PM

Not too common around here, Usually I see one and am like "hey there's a nice looking 300d, oh wait... hi Dad."

smitherz 03-28-2010 07:16 PM

I crossed paths with a 300D last Tuesday going to lunch. Friday I parked one row behind a nice blue 240D at Walmart. I almost just waited to talk with the owner. A week or two ago I moved over a lane to let a car merge from a side road. As I approached I noticed it was a red 300CD. We both exchanged waves as I passed him. That guy lives maybe 5 miles from me and I may have to drive down there and look him up. I want to be in line if he decides to sell it. :D

Renntag 03-28-2010 07:21 PM

I dont keep track. Maybe 2-3 per week. (?)

There are many in the area. It is nice to see them from time to time.

babymog 03-28-2010 07:21 PM

I drove to SC to pick up a coach last week, saw 4 123 TDs in NC and SC on the trip. Only one here/locally, a TD also.
