What is the stock boost pressure E300 turbo?

Anyone knows the stock boost pressure on the E class turbo W210, 606 engine?
I am looking at a boost gauge, should I get it in PSI or BAR?
Thank you.
Olivier

Get a guage that registers from 0-25 PSI.

PSI or BAR is personal prefference.

Thank you. I didn't know what would the difference be?
Any idea of the expected regular "stock" boost?
Thanks.

I tested my car and it shows about 15 PSI at max.

Thank you Evan.
From what I can get its just a bit more the 1 BAR ( 1,034).
Now I just need a gauge to look at it properly. I might get it today.
I am defenitly getting more power then the stock and need to know what pressure I have. Is there a MAX I should be worry to pass or the turbo been that "small" will not do any over pressure?
All the best.

I hooked up the vacuum straight to the wastegate one time as an experiment and the most I could get out of it was about 17PSI so I don't really think it's capable of hurting itself.

The problem keeping it set that way is that it sets a code when the engine speed levels out and the ECU can't lower the boost level.

Cheers Evan,
I remember readingg that you did connected directly when a poster add an extra vaccum chamber to the wastegate. 17PSI is not much difference?
I have an extra vaccum chamber to close the wastegate faster( this is the theory)I also have a resistor on the AIT that (suppositly) fools a bit the ECU and inject more fuel, to balance this I partially blocked the boost sensor, now the opening is only the size of a paperclip wire. If I block it more it does trigger something and shut off the boost, but this way its OK. I also made some holes at the bottom of the air filter to get as much air in as possible and the injection timing is advance.
I forgot I also have a different MAF as it was suggested to me.
All this make it more swiftly.
Thank you.

Cheers. Defenitly a gauge is needed. I am waiting on a resistor to add to the boost sensor to fool it a bit more but I will wait to see what PSI is actually produce at the moment.

Hi Old Sinner,
No mod at all. I use to have a HE but sold it as I needed a bit of money, it was not in the insurance as mod etc...
The only improvememt I did for the Veg beside the advance the timing was to take off the thermostat on the Stock HE in the head. From what I gather when I open it its OK on thin dino but the flow is really restricetd, no good on thicker veg.
Best mix so far that work is 10% dino, 5% RUG and 1% acetone. Its like been on dino.
Here is pictures of the thermostat. I [ut it back together and glued it with a tough glue
Also a picture of the no more HE in the post #19 below

20 PSI so far

Got a Boost gauge today and just pass it through the door to see what was going on boost wise and it went up tp 20 PSI
With a better filter I reckon it will go a wee highter. Waiting on a pipercross foam filter.

22 PSI is the maximum to be safe is it?

Will the fuel follow as well as the boost with the MAF regulating the mixture?

Happy with the gauge here, this mean I am doing something right and in the safe limits
