The knob just pulls off. If it won`t, use a cloth to protect it and a pair of Plyers to pull it off. and a large nut to remove. think it might be a 22mm.

Yippy skippy...the dash I'd bought as a replacement happens to have the manual control lever in it....YEAH...happy again. Thanks all!

I was just off 2 silly MM.
 All the dashes have the slot in the center for the lever. it is the wood trim that is different. Twist the tabs on the back side and pull the trim off. Charlie
