My 1997 MB e300d Is blowing cold air out of the vents just bought forgot to check the AC. The car was in such good condition and just for a grand wuick fix replaced the control arm bushings and ball joint. but I know not too about AC, I have filled a couple on domestic's and jap cars but never a MB I am a happy new owner looking for some Ideas

Should I try to recharge the system first to see if the compressor will kick(not engagging now)
Where is the fill valve?
wish I had the money to a nice ac set but Just spent 700 on controlarm and all that. Thank you all for your help

Do you have a pushbutton unit? If so, search for the procedure to extract the trouble codes and current sensor values. Post them here.
