A real quick one...

What's the safest place underneath the vehicle to support it on jackstands? Thanks!

On the side of my 87 300sdl I have four rubber mounts that I use to support the body that are located by the front and back doors. But do remember to block off the wheels so they CAN NOT roll on you. Also don't use a hydraulic jack to support the car it's only used to get the car up and onto jack stands. For your car, you can also use the frame to properly support the weight.

If you’re attempting to lift the engine or trannie to replace motor mounts use a large piece of wood because the engine pan is soft/ thin aluminum.

Safety first

On my wagon, in the front I raise using the cross member under the engine and then jack stands on the big rail in from the jack points.

For the rear, I raise using the differential and then jack stands where the subframe bolts to the body. Definitely use wood to protect the undercoating on the front and the large bolts in the rear. Leave the jack if you can for backup.
