I am trying to remove the window trim in the rear window of my 300TD. Can't get it out and don't want to force too much.

Is it part of the window seal?

Getting the car to be painted so would be nice if I could get this piece out...

Must be pulled horizontally, away from the window, not up. It is not part of the window trim. I would try prying with a plastic putty knife. Once you get one end loose you can work the rest loose carefully with your fingers.
