Do fuel heaters leak in 606? Should i bypass it?

Is that a fuel heater that is up by the front of engine between #1 and #2 glow plugs? It looks like fuel is leaking either at hose or the heater. I see on the 602/603 that people bypass the fuel heater often.

Should i do this on the 606? Its a 1995 W124 and i have the intake off now to fix fuel leaks.

Thanks

leak

Mine leaked also. Anticipating that I would have to replace it, I bought a new one. It came with a new gasket too. After getting the intake off, I realized the mounting bolts had come loose. I tightened them down and no more leaks. That was 130,000 miles ago. You might have to replace just the gasket.
