Removing prechambers from a 200D cylender head

A friend of mine is restoring a 67 200D he pilled the head to change the head gasket and has discovered exploded prechambers. I just got done reading the DIY on the 617 prechamber tool and removal. is the 200D any different? I haven't looked at the head yet, he was just talking about it at the VW show I went to this weekend.

Exact same procedure. Should be the same tools as well.

Did the tips fall off on top of the piston, or did just the balls burn off? If the pieces fell on the piston, it can beat the piston pretty bad (which would be obvious by looking at it).

Check out these posts:

300 5cyl. homemade prechamber puller

Prechamber and threaded ring threads

where to get the tool to take out precombustion chambers sdl?

If you do a search on this site, I'm sure you will find other posts about tools. I made one out of a Shimano crank puller tool bought off Ebay and fabricated a ring tool.

To remove the prechamber, first remove the injector line and injector. Remove the glow plug or else you will be installing a new one when you shear it of removing the prechamber. Unscrew the locking ring holding the prechamber in. This is best done with the correct tool, but will also work with a punch and hammer in an emergency. Then screw in you Shimano modified tool, and using a slide hammer, pull it out.
