smooth when cold, shakes when warm

the engine has started shaking badly when its warm. I just replaced the air cleaner boots and so I will probably have to do that again.

No power loss so I doubt its a dead cylinder

I just recently cleaned out the banjo bolt that goes to the alda (could it be misaligned?)

Or is it just most likely the engine mounts and shocks are due for a replacement?

Well, I took it to the indy shop and said call with an estimate. give me your thoughts so I don't get reamed by my indy.

get ahold of WHUNTER, he'll give good advice on checking things. but basically if you can't fit a #2 pencil between the shield and your mount, you have issues there.
it could also be a case of rack dampner replacement needed.

good deal.

thanks

Sounds like a rack damper issue, do a search, plenty of info there.

What I had to do to get rid of the my Vibration:

Raise the Idle speed within the normal range (this helped some as it was around 700rpm). The seed is on the Emission Sticker with the Valve Adjutment specs.

I bought a new Rack Damper Bolt but it did not help much. )

Rebuilt my Injectors with $16 each brand X Spray Nozzles (This took away most of the shaking)

Doing a Valve Adjustement (took away another large part of the shaking)

Changed Motor and Transmission mounts (took away some more vibration)

Found that I had a small air leak that showed up when the Engine was hot due to hard fuel inlet lines that did not seal even with the clamps tight.

Finally was able to use the Rack Damper Bolt to tune out a little more shake.
(I believe that bolt was made to reduce the shake on a new engine; not to compensate for a bunch of worn and out of spec parts.)

One of the reasons the Injectors cause an idle issue is that on the stock Injector Nozzles there is a tiny hole drilled down the center of the Nozzle Pintel and it and an larger hole further up get plugged with Carbon.
That hole is there for idle an low speeds driving. See first pic.

In the 2nd pic the Yellow Arrow points to the Rack Damper Pin.
