Plenty of pan clearance.... you need a 6bt to move that beast around .... I have a 26' sea ray too ...

Kennedy doesn't have any mercedes stuff.

Update:
Rear motor mounts have been fabbed (biggest PITA of this whole project)

wire harness is complete (except starter that was ordered)

New GM flywheel and adapter plate have been installed (photos to come),

coupler is installed,

IP pump timed and installed,

Front motor mounts are cut just need to weld them,

various tach parts have been sent out for custom tach amp by another forum member.

Vacuum Shutoff is now electrically controlled,

Turbo overboost protection valve was hooked back up.

GM oil pressure sensor installed (PITA not sure if the fittings are going to leak yet)

all vacuum lines ran

GP relay is hooked up and functioning

looks-wise that is pretty sweet, but there's gotta be something wrong with painting an engine indiscriminantly (i.e. without masking certain parts off). i can't think of what would go wrong with this in a marine application, but this paint might come back to bite you in the future.

but it sounds like this project is really getting off the ground--lots of work in a relatively short period of time

I painted all parts seperately and masked everything off meticulously ... The only thing I really painted while attached was the ip pump and some touch up once all assembled ... In a marine application everything is typically painted to prevent corrosion ... Never had a problem with boat motors and they are sprayed assembled with tons of paint.

can you describe how you modified the vacuum shut off to be electrically controlled?

Looks great, reminds me of the Joker from batman

The common method is to use the overboost solenoid to control the vacuum to the IP. Just connect key-on power to it, then with the key off it'll open, putting vacuum to the pump.

I've been folowing this thread, please keep us updated!! I had wondered how one of these engines would work in a boat. By the way I think I'll have to paint my engine gloss black now... to hide the oil leaks .....

Overboost solenoid. Normally open solenoid so when the power is taken away (key turns off) it allows vacuum to shut off valve. When power is applied it vents vacuum to atmosphere on the Shut off valve side but blocks vacuum on the vacuum source side. Pretty spiffy setup ... I found it on another thread on this forum.

I was going to paint it black but Marine diesels are usually white when coupled to a mercruiser drive so i was keeping in marine engine tradition
I dunno most people that see it say WTF is that??
