R4 to Sanden Compressor Adapter
Guys,
While looking for a compressor mount for a non Mercedes vehicle I stumbled across something that might be of interest to some of you. The illustration is too small and hard to make anything out of, but it is an R4 to Sanden adapter bracket. This may very well be to adapt a Sanden directly to some GM vehicle and might not be of any use to an MB guy, but if you have a need you should check it out. It is at NostalgicAirParts. Look under Mounts and Pulleys. Hope this info is of use to someone. |

interesting, but GM uses a bracket to mount the compressor, and this looks like it fits into that bracket. I don't know if it would work with our cars. I think a sanden in place of the R4 Would hit the IP... then again, my euro has a sanden in there... hmmm

I have two Euro 123's, both not much more than parts cars. They both have aftermarket A/C with a Sanden compressor. The bracket bolts the Sanden solid in place and uses an idler belt tensioner as I recall. They don't hit the IP, but they are set up for one belt as I recall.
I was afraid that the bracket I referred to might mount the compressor to another bracket rather than adapt to the R4 mount points. Sorry if I sent anyone on a wild goose chase. |
