Steel fuel lines

Hey guys. Any idea where I can find some steel injection lines for an om603. I keep cracking mine at the base. Ive inquired to the finns about some thicker ones that ive noticed they are using, and they seem to think I should have no problem finding them at a bosch or diesel shop here in the states. Homever I have been all around the seattle area searching and have had no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated, im stuck without em. Thanks fellas

It used to be that some of the larger Fuel Injection Shops could make you a set of lines but they would not come pre-bent.

They have a stock of straight tubing and various sized Nuts and they Silver Braze the Cone Shaped end onto the Tubing.

So it would simply be a matter of asking they if they could make some with thicker Tubing.

Members here have said if you are missing or have damaged Fuel Injection Tubing Clamps they are prone to breaking.

It would be helpful if you could find out the thread size on both ends of your Fuel Injection Line.
After that all you can do is find out the local Fuel Injection Shops in your area and see if they can do for your.
Or I guess you could do a search of out of state shops that Rebuild Fuel Injection Pumps and have a website and Email them.

This company made a Fuel Injection Line for my Volvo but that was around 1993 and I have had no contact with the company since then.

Dumas Diesel Injection
1320 W. Esther Ave.
Long Beach, CA 90813
Tel: (562) 624-4114

I do not know if the then owner is alive but I went to some Factory sponsered school classes one for Stanadyne (Roosamaster) and one for Bosch Fuel Injection Pumps with Jow Dumas who was the owner back in 1993. I have a feeling his Son must be running the business now as he is somewhat older than me and i am close to 60.

There is also a company in or around San Francisco the some of the Members have said is top notch and will answer questions. I do not remember the name.

Still on the hunt for an injection shop that can make something like thes. Thanks Diesel, Dumas is a good shop, however they are only able to repair lines that are cracked near the ends.

I had not thought of this before but maybe the Hydraulic Hose Shops would have some info/idea on who would make Steel Tubing Lines.

Back in 1992 they made me a complete Fuel Injection Line for my Volvo.

Most places do not even like to braze a new end on the cracked at the end ones as the Metal in that area is most likely crystalzed to some degree and has a 50/50 chance of failing again.

It simply could be there is not enough business for the Fuel Injection Shops now adays to do that sort of work.
I do not know what has happend in my Area but in the 1970s there was a bunch of Fuel Injection Shops, Diesel Engine Parts Places and even a few after market Manufacturers right in my Area. Most seem to have passed by they wayside.
I am not sure why as there are more Diesels on the Road than there ever has been.

The fuel injection line clamps are absolutely critical. If they are broken (age and heat degrades the plastic) then it will cause the injection lines to crack resulting in a fuel leak.

If the clamps are in good shape your injection lines should never crack. You can have thicker lines made, but then they won't fit in the clamps as they are already a tight fit.

I always keep spare clamps on hand and I make sure I have a new set before cleaning the injectors.
