Argh! FSM wiring diagrams suck!
Putting a 617.952 Into a boat and working on the engine wire harness. The FSM wiring diagram I have is hardly ledgible and leaves out a lot of things. I need some help wiring a few things
Glow plug relay to ignition (all the numbers on my diagram are unreadable) Not sure what is what on the 4 pin connector. Alternator (Why are there two red wires and what is the blue wire for?) Does anyone know the resistance range of the coolant temp sensor? I will be using an aftermarket gauge and want to be sure the resistance range is the same so i get accurate readings. Where is the oil pressure sensor? I have not seen or found one. And there was no wiring for one. Thanks for your help guys don't know what i would do without you

Both red wires are B+. Blue wire powers the "charge" indicator light. Last edited by tangofox007; 04-29-2010 at 01:12 AM. |

would that be the small oil line that comes off the side of the oil filter housing? Terminals 15&50 should be key on power?? I am not using the benz ignition switch. I would think one of these is ground though..... roger on the alternator.

Yes, those wiring diagrams are horrible. They should have been touched up after the initial scan before publication. Sometimes lines disappear altogether, numbers are unreadable and wire size/colors are reduced to just a few pixels.
I have been editing my own copy of the climate control schematic for the last couple of weeks.

You can eliminate 50 altogether if you prefer. (50 is normally powered only when the switch is in the "start" position.) The only affect is that the glow cycle will not terminate prematurely when the key is released from the "start" position. (The timer will always run the full cycle.) Terminal 15 needs to be powered in the "run" and "start" position. |

Perfect that is very helpful thank you !
Now anyone know the resistence range of the temperature sensor on the IP side of the head?
