The bottom of the turbocharger is leaking at the boost pressure control valve. Do i need to replaced the whole turbo? Or can I get a kit, searched Fastlane but no go.

I would not jump to the conclusion that you need a new turbo, as pleasant as that might seem.
There are two ways oil can accumulate in that cylindrical housing: - bearings / seals in the main turbo section are worn and oil is leaking past them. When the valve opens during full boost, it enters the cylinder. [looking at diagrams of this section will help you understand] -blowby gases, with oil in suspension, from the crankcase are continually sent to the intake and oil finds its way there. For me, setting up an oil separator for the crankcase ventilation system reduced the oil leaking from this cylinder. If you are still concerned about your turbo, remove the tube that supplies the turbo with fresh air after the engine has cooled down a bit. Grab the nut on the shaft and gently wiggle up and down. This will give you a general sense of the health of the bearings inside. |
