coolant flow

is it possible to tell which direction the coolant flows in a 98 e300 turbo diesel? does it go from the water pump - out the left rear of the engine - along the fire wall - to the heater core - then to the aux pump? or anything like that?

OK, here is my problem. I've installed a greasecar kit and the engine temp is normal and stable at 80c, the temp at the vegi filter only rises to above 150f once in a while. I had the same kit in my 87 plumbed the same way, out of the head on the driver's side rear of engine and back in at the lower rad hose as described in kit instructions and it work great.

I talked to a mb mechanic and he said to intall a second aux pump this will solve my problem.

any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated.

thank you all for even giving this a litle thought.

The line from the thermostat area is your supply, did Mercedes reverse the coolant flow on their diesels? I know that most manufacturers had reversed coolant flow in their gas engines by this point.
