Buying advice on 1985 300D

I am going to look at a 300D tomorrow. The original asking price was 4000. the car got hit and now has a front fender that is damaged. The person selling the car is willing to give it to me for 2000 now. It has 200K, but is a cali car with no rust, and has a lot of new parts. The car seems a solid runner. Here is the craigslist post and the ebay listing. I think at 2K the car is a decent deal considering the car is in good condition(besides the fender). What do you think

how bad is the fender damage? it's a unibody car, crumple zone damage is costly to fix.

Fenders cam be replaced, the early ones were glued on too, so that will add to the cost.
You can get a new or used tail light also.
No a bad price. But drive it first.

(Apart from the accident damage) if it no longer lives in the sun check that all of the drains work and that the rubbers are good. A new life in the wet could cause some headaches...

I bought my last 300D at Star European in Costa Mesa--where that car was sold in 2007. It's a stand-up place, but super expensive for repairs. The mechanic, Klaus, is from Germany and trained there under master MB types as a kid. He's got to be close to seventy years old. His shop was astoundingly clean--cleaner than my kitchen!

so i bought the car yesterday for $1850. It drives very nice and shifts very smooth. It had a lot of new suspension parts(ball joints, upper control arms, shocks). It is absolutely rust free. It does look it has been repainted at some point but looks nice. I attached a photo of the damage. I will only need a new fender, which i do have, but would need to repaint it. I will also need a new blinker. The interior is in decent condition too(the drivers seat has a tear, and the back seat has a small tear as well). Noticed this morning that the master brake cylinder is leaking a little bit. Wonder if it can be repaired, or i will just get one from a junk yard. I never did do any valve adjustments, but it looks like that will have to be done as well(not sure if I should attempt this myself or not).
I almost forgot the tach does not work. Does 1985 w123 have an OVP relay. If it does where is it. I do not see it. I know that the SDL has one and the SD which has the same motor. I cant find it on mine.
