Vac pump, SLS pump

I have an oil leak from one of these base gaskets. Are the vac pump and SLSpump a no brainer to remove and replace, so I can do the gaskets sealing them? While they are off should I do anything like rebuild them at 117k, even though only the base gaskests are leaking?

I removed my SLS pump yesterday afternoon. Very straight forward. Here are the steps I took.
  1. Drain SLS reservoir using my Mityvac.
  2. Detach both hoses from the pump. Use PB Blast if they are tight and watch out for the second washer on the banjo bolt.
  3. Use an allen wrench to remove the 4 outermost screws attaching the SLS pump to to engine. I had to PB Blast them first.
  4. Gently pull SLS pump from engine.

Once it's off you can remove the two center screws and then pull the pump apart. You'll find two gaskets inside. The kit comes with three gaskets, so I still need to find where the third one goes.

EDIT: There is a forth, paper-ish gasket that goes between the pump and the engine.

Thanks for the info

I don't know which base gasket is leaking, so I'm going to replace the base gasket on the SLS pump and the VAC pump and didn't want something going "sproing" when I pulled them off. I was working on a Datsun tranny once and removed a bolt, and ended up having to take the whole tranny
apart to remedy the situation.
