now, you know talking about good luck causes it to stop right?
it will stop again. or it's not working fully, and your working odometer could be counting slowly...
so pull it apart and fix it.
no big deal, easy, and free to do...

same here

Trust me, it doesnot and cannot fix itself! What I believe happens is that once it starts to 'slip' it will continue to do so until the seasonal tempurature change. Since different metals expand and contract at different rates and there ar different metals used it WILL slip again then grab. I'd relate to you the DC-10 aluminum 30' seat tracks and the 'toolsteel' tool to install them , but my typing speed prohibits the full story.

Just fix it... as I should do myself.

Mine only works when it's below 50 degrees inside the car...

I dunno... husband fixed mine, it ran for a few hundred miles or so, and then quit again. At exactly 168000 which makes me wonder...

(and no, that's not the true mileage by a long shot....)

Neither... epoxy on the end of the shaft. It was a small drop and likely not enough.

yeah. epoxy can't fix it.
all you need to do is push the shaft out a bit, pinch the shaft where the gear rides, and press it back together. permanent fix.
