Sticking Caliper?

I just changed out my front pads recently and several weeks later heard a slight metallic sound coming form the rear pads and assumed that my rear pads were down to metal as evidenced by a visual on the passenger side rear rotor. I was surprised to see 25% left on the drivers side rear pads and 25% on the passenger rear inner pad but the outer passenger rear pad was down to metal! Th outer caliper piston moved back in to its bore fairly easily my only conclusion has been that the piston was frozen somewhat and not retracting therefore wearing the pad down much sooner than the others? Does this sound like a reasonable conclusion? Strange! Do these pads ever disintegrate due to faulty manufacturing etc.? I replaced pads with the Meyle pre scorched pads -not sure what was used previously.

Oh, I think I am going to take a decent drive and shoot the passenger rotor with my thermal gun and compare temp to non sticking side -should be interesting to compare temps -

Sounds like, yeah, only one caliper piston is working, time a new or rebuilt one.
