I'm sure the 87, 91, 93 and 95 that I worked on have the exact same condenser, and they have small tubes, maybe 4mm diameter, and there are several rows in them. from what I have seen, the parallel condensers have flat tubes that connect to a header on each side. none of the 124 cars I have seen have that.

R-12
Your Mogness,
You're not "Past Asssociative Memory Challenged" the R-12 does have a much higher heat transfer quotient/capability than the 134. A.E., Little red sticker on the Upper Radiator support on the 124.128 says 1.1Kg / 2.4Lbs. Maximum for R-12. (So I guess ,if you're determined to "134' it, 80% of 2.4Lbs) Equatorial W124s SHOULD come equipped with Parallel Flow Condensers AND R-12!

Do the 126's and 124's combine 20% outside air on max like the 123 does?

It's really odd then that if you look up the part numbers for replacement condensors, it is a different part number for an early car than it is for a late car. I know that I saw a different condensor on an E320 than what is on mine, but it was a long time ago, so I don't remember details. |

I wonder what is different. I'll take accurate measurements soon. |

I have your photo, along with a couple comparison photos of a '95 (R-134a) and an '87 (R-12) 124 condensors. Bonus photo day.
R-134a/R-134a/R-12/R-12 The R-12 condensor in my '87 has flattened tubes, the R-134a smaller round ones.

hmmmm I'm guessing the close up is from the 87?
perhaps the reason my cars all have the same condenser, is that the "conversion" to 134 got them newer condensers? wow. |

now I gotta go take some good pics of the condenser in my 87 and in my 93... I find it hard to believe somebody changed the condensers as part of the conversion.

in this shot, you can plainly see the tube and the tiny tubes in my condenser in the 87...

The first two are '95 (late production), the second two are the '87. Your '87 looks identical.
