Somebody correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe that the last year for the 300SD was 1985? After that they made the SDL, which has a very different engine and vacuum system. Are you sure it's not an SDL? Or is it an '83?
Anyway, here's a link for various vacuum systems:

(If it ever starts THIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJqPsDMtS5Q
find someone else to own it.)

Although, a member "OldSouth" owned a beautiful example with hundreds of
thousands of miles on it.
Selling my 1995 S350 - Oldsouth

P.M. Him (Right Click on his name in the post and then send him a PM) and
ask him about the Vacuum diagrams.

[Horns are ELECTRIC,Door Locks (May) have the Power assist Closing]

What, "Quit Completely" (Center Vents,Door Locks,Horns ?) (or the Engine?)

If you search on google for AKP722 you'll find a link to a pdf that is the diagnostic manual for the transmission and within those pages you'll find a good vacuum diagram for the W140 300SD/S350.

This is for underhood vacuum diagram. For other vacuum diagrams have a look at what others have posted.

Hope that helps.

The W140 diesel sedans were badged as 300SD because they were only available in swb form. After rationalization in late 1993 they were more appropriately badged S350 for the remaining build period till the end of 1995. The model that followed, the S300 (OM606) powered W140's were not brought to the US (unfortunately).

As a side not I love the door close assist and mine got a replacement MB engine in 2001.

Your center AC vents are cable actuated so I'm not sure where the problem is. If you're not getting any air through the vents then it could be your HVAC control head OR be sure and check the cabin air filter underhood to make sure it's not completely clogged. That was the main problem with mine.

If your door locks don't pull down properly the pump is underneath the back seat for this feature. There could be a leak or a disconnected hose or if your seat bladder system is leaking it will affect the locks too. The pump under the back seat controls the locks, the trunk mounted pump closes the doors.

Hope this helps.
