What would cause a drier to rupture?
Just wondering, because mine did apparently. The bottom of the drier is welded on, and it clearly ruptured along that seam. Is the more of a safety thing or manufacture defect?

rust.
the a/c system is under anywhere from 70psi not running and cold outside, to 200psi running full bore. if the dryer got salt spray on it, and it had any paint worn off rust will eat away, and POP out it goes. I think it's crazy that it's in the fenderwell on these cars.

Wouldn't it be pretty easy to move the dryer a higher and seal off the whole to the undercarriage?

on the euro's there is no hole, and the dryer on the added in a/c is mounted on top of the fender... I'll take a pic of it sometime...
