yeah, it' matches the pictures of your car, but odd that no options come up.
later in the week I'll dig up some pics of the bowden connection, and the attachments needed. give us some pics of the engine valve cover close up of the linkage where the cable is supposed to connect, and we'll get er shifting for ya!

Welcome Aaron !!!

None of us want to see such a nice car not working properly !!

We would much prefer to see you still driving it proudly in 10 or 15 years!!

If you have to rev it to get it to stop, you do have a vac leak, getting the trans right is more important though.

You may be able to find a link or 2 on the forum to an online workshop manual. It may have pics of how the bowden cable is attached.

Good Luck !!

well, it's been over 24 hours, and nothing back from the seller.
I hope we can get this pretty car fixed up. at the very least, it should sell for a better value!

He is a busy guy. When I went to see the car they were painting/fixing his family's house. After seeing a few pictures I am pretty sure it is the bowden cable.

bowden cable

Welcom to the forum!! There is a heap of info here if you have the time to read thru, everyone here is extremly helpful even for a noob like me!!
I was having the same troubles as you are, check your bowden cable, it will determine when the transmission shifts, also have a look at your kickdown switch, under the accelorator pedal, make sure it is not sticking or has carpet stuck on top of it, ($12) The switch just pops out after you press the tabs and remove wire harness, replace...easy!!
looks like another poster had a look as well, the parts are cheap enough.
Looks like you have a very nice car, would hate to see you sell it because of a $30.00-$50.00 fix the guys here can walk you thru it, they have been a tremendous help to me also thanks guys!

here is where the bowden cable attaches at the transmission, from what I can understand you can acsess it by removing the trans pan, phil at peach parts or all parts (above link "buy parts") has the parts I just got them myself.. On my car 85 300 d turbo looks like it is on the passengers side of the tranny. above the trans pan good luck
