W140 3.5 engine mounts

Spent three hours this evening changing both motor mounts and the transmission mount. Amazing difference in smoothness. If I had known it was going to be so quick, I would have done it a long time ago. The shaking at idle has been dramatically reduced, and gone is the clunk when shifting from Drive to Reverse. Just an FYI for anyone wondering if they should, or how difficult it is.

Thanks for the commentary, I have been toying with the idea of changing all these and now I think I'll go ahead and do it.

One question though, was your idle vibration always the same or did it progressively get worse as the engine warmed up?

thanks
