Why the Design Change? Number of Pressure Converters (Vacuum Transducers) in 2.5T
In the 1990-1991 2.5 Turbo, there are three pressure converters (vacuum transducers). But for 1992-1993, the number was reduced to two. Does anyone know the reason for the design change? Was the function of the third one eliminated, or simply incorporated into one of the other two?
As I have one of each, I'm curious. Thanks. PS In Number of Pressure Converters: One or Two one board member suggests "the deleted transducer managed vacuum supply to the boost transducer and I guess Benz decided it wasn't really needed." PPS I think, when there are two, one is for EGR and one is for fuel mix.
