Any members around Plano, TX?

I drove to Plano, TX over the weekend and left my 85 300D with my son to use for the summer. Unfortunately, he had an accident on Sunday evening and I am fearing that the car may be totaled. He was making a left turn at an intersection and did not see an oncoming car. Hit her in the left rear passenger door. There was oil and antifreeze on the ground. Car had to be towed home. I'll try to get some pictures.

Is there anyone in the Plano area that could take a look for me and give me an assessment of how bad it is?

I am seriously overbooked this week and next, but if your son is close by should be able to help. Shoot me a PM with some basic info to start.

Cheers,

- JimY

I'm up in Minnesota now, but I'll be in the Dallas/Plano area in 10-13 days. No problem checking it out for you.

I'm in the DFW area also, so one of us will be more than happy to help when possible.
Glad your son is OK. Sorry your car is damaged or totaled. :(

well

Wow, Plano drivers are not getting any better. Might take less time to fly son home next time and then let him light a stick of dynamite in the car there:D

Good all survived.

As described, his son hit the other car; so let's not be too quick to blame the Plano drivers, lousy as they are.

I heard that the Plano drivers are aggressive but in this case I believe it was due to inexperience on my son's part, both as a defensive driver and in a new area unfamiliar to him.

The Benz came through and protected him. I am thankful for that.

Thank you, Skid Row. I am hoping to know a lot more by the time you get back but may be in touch.

This car is not going to see any dynamite. It is a great car and I would probably tow it back to PA and restore it myself it the insurance company totals it. I am hoping not to have to do that.

Besides, having driven around Plano last weekend, I suspect they have an ordinance restricting dynamite within the city limits. :)

No disrepect to your son. I consider most PLANO Drivers inexperienced. Thats the problem. And everyday there are like several hundred more. Just not enough square footage for them all to share.

Everybody likes to generalize, but bad drivers are everywhere! Plano is no worse than anywhere else around here. I see idiots in all the 'burbs!! ;)

Can I suggest to all the volunteers that if you go check out the car to post up here - that way noone will make an unneeded trip to Plano.

Cheers,
