1993 300SD Tranny Slip
where do I start?
Slips pretty bad, but it does catch, drove car home 55 miles (99% highway nonstop) fell out of gear once on the highway (for maybe 10 seconds). Slow to engage D or R sometimes, when works stays in 1st way too long, but does shift into second. I guess first thing is a new transmission filter and some new fluid. Car rides very nice on the highway, no idea about how fast I was driving as the speedo don't work either.

Well going through the repair records (very extensive I might add) looks like the transmission fluid and filter have been changed 3 times, the last one was at 122K miles where some PO reported slipping, looks like I don't have a very good transmission in this car. Work order even says "possible internal problems inside trans" Odometer showin 193K now.
Are there any internal adjustments on the 722.3 transmission?

Do you have documentation that the engine was replaced? If not I wouldn't invest anything in the transmission, it would just be throwing money away.

why as a matter of fact, at 40K the original owner reported oil consumption of 1 quart per 100 miles, so yes the engine has been replaced about 150K miles ago.
Actually the engine was not replaced, it was rebuilt, new pistons, new cylinder head, about 6 pages worth of parts.
