OM603 1987 what to do with it?
Ok so my brother in law had some bad luck, he has an 87 300d with 180k on it and a brand new #22 head. The actual bad part is some jackhole backed into the front of his car with a tow hitch no less and trashed the body and took out the brand new radiator. Now working on these car and w123s i of course told him dont fear just get a good body and ill do the swap.......$500 bux later he has i near mint w124 87 300D. The PO was in the process of fixing the #14 head but it was too far gone. So i have in my hands a 200k complete short block with new vicktor renz head gasket and new factory head bolts......all i need is a head and i have a running om603.
So i ask you guys what would you do if you had this and where would you start first....i.e whats the cheapest way to get the motor back in service?

Depends on what you would do with it if it was going.
If you have a use for it, I would be replacing the rings & bearing shells while it was in pieces. Timing chain as well. Lux has what you need to complete it!!
