82 300D: Rattle coming from the front left wheel area during right hand curve

So I'm getting on the freeway today, giving full acceleration through 40-50 mph while going through a slight right hand curve on the onramp. While the steering wheel is slightly turned to the right, I hear a noise coming from the front left wheel area. It's a rattle, and sounds somewhat like empty aluminum soda cans being jostled around in a bag. Once I returned the wheel to the straight ahead position, the noise went away.

I can't produce the sound during left turns, just right turns and right curves, and only during acceleration. Over the weekend, I'm going to put the car on jackstands and take a look to see if anything is loose or worn, but in the meantime, does this sound like something anyone else has experienced?

I think I have something similar to this with my car. I haven't really tried to hard to figure out where it's coming from yet. Mine may be coming from the rear, however. Are there dust shields in there somewhere?

The PO had Kleen Wheels on there, but I removed those suckers soon after I got the car, and that was back in 2005.

any chance you have aluminum cans in your door panel tray?

Mine was doing this. Turned out I needed new rotors and pads on back. Problem fixxed.

When mechanic was doing rotors and pads the Calipers leaked so needed them too. Brakes way better and no rattle in rear.

Any chance it might be the struts? I had this sort of problem in my 124 & it turned out to be the struts...
