I just had my strikers off recently for painting. Used some of Eastwood's "Silver Cad," which really came out nice. I suppose it would have been smart to "rotate" the front and rear strikers while I was at it.

I guess in hindsight you can say "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" !

So did you polish the latches? How about lube? What did you use and did you experience any improvement in performance?

No, just painted the strikers.

It was all about improving appearance. No performance issues so far. My latches are still pretty well lubed from the original greasing in Stuttgart.

Adjust the latch plate

On mine, there's a latch plate that the door hooks onto. It just has 2 screws on it, loosen them, adust it up/down or whatever, and try it until you get it right.
