It should not take that long. I'd venture to say less than 1 hour. i just ran the hard brake line from the MC to the tee fitting at the rear and took about 1 hr total. that included bending the line to shape and over the rear axle like the old line.

The lines going to each wheel are very short.

I agree with the above if you are also installing new fuel hard lines in the original line holders as well. It increases the time by about an hour with the fooling around involved in the process. A reasonable shop should probably bill an hour for one of the short rear lines although I have not replaced them on mercedes 123s myself.

If you are cautious you might be able to change the short line without actually having to bleed down the system. It is possible with the long line brake line to rear junction point if you let gravity fill the line from the front to the back before securing the rear fitting well. The time to bleed if required might vary depending on who is doing it if required.

I would not tackle old brake fitting in the rust belt without real heat. You would probably break more than you wanted in the process otherwise.

true. I had to mapp torch the tee fitting just for a few seconds to loosen the fitting. I plan to pressure bleed the system when I'm ready.

Good to know Ill need a bit of high heat to get the T fittings out...

Do I have to pressure bleed the system after something like this, or will a traditional 2 man bleed suffice?

I am replacing all 5 hard lines.
