W126 odometer repair same as W123?
The odometer has stopped working on my 84 300SD.
I found the dieselgiant DIY for the W123. Any differences to point out on the two different models for this repair? Jeff

They are totally different. The 126 uses plastic gears that deteriorate over time. Here's a few pics for you. http://s199.photobucket.com/albums/aa26/t_goat69/Mercedes%20Repair/W126%20Odo%20Gears/

odometergears.com has the gears you'll need to replace. They are plastic and the teeth break off after many years of use.
